A machinery manufacturer asked our founders to develop an MES solution to sell with their equipment. FeneTech’s experienced manufacturing automation engineers’ and software developers’ eyes were opened to the need for a modern and flexible software platform built from the factory floor up to meet the demanding needs of make-to-order manufacturers.
A new ERP system for complex products and production was born.

Luck? For more than a decade, the founders of FeneTech had been developing custom software and implementing automation projects in a variety of industries. They understood the factory floor and the challenges of both mass customization and highly-customized product manufacturing.
Four years after incorporating, FeneTech released its first product version in 2000 under the name FeneVision™.
Over the years, this modular-based MES and ERP solution increased its product offerings. Each new module was and continues to be developed in to meet the needs of our customers, ensuring that all features are functional, necessary, and adaptable to various business processes.
Our annual user conference began in 2003 and continues to this day. At each conference, we encourage our customers to offer ideas for enhancements, requests feedback on our products, and teach users how to get the most out of their investment.
By 2008, FeneTech had customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and opened its Luxembourg office in 2010. While all software development occurs in the Aurora, Ohio office, the Luxembourg team provides implementation and ongoing support for our European clients. In the past two decades, FeneTech has grown from a staff of four to more than 70 employees.
FeneVision evolved into the leading ERP system for window and door makers and glass fabricators around the world. Q2S ERP was spun out of FeneVision to serve other make to order, mass customization and complex products manufacturers. The core competency is a powerful and dynamic rules-based bill of materials integrated with company operations.
Whenever anyone asks if our products are complete, we always say ‘no’. When investment in a software product ends, the product ages quickly.
